Can I use Fastsync by itself?

IAR117

Don't link me that damn video that I always get when I ask a similar question. It's this video if you were wondering.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiO8cXP2YvUAhXIK8AKHT81AFAQtwIIRjAF&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DL07t_mY2LEU&usg=AFQjCNEgGonXjFCOIq243f4DP4E0y2hIsQ&sig2=ob-keTOzPYpfAB8TkAR7LQ

Anyway. Can I use it with a 144hz monitor without G-Sync? Do I have to reach a certain number of frames? Thanks

Yes, FastSync is just a variation of V-Sync, it can be used on any monitor.

Am I right in saying that it does the same with less input lag?

You should just watch the video you linked.... it goes into detail of how it works and its respective performance levels to V-sync and G-sync.

I don't know if I'm annoyed at you or not.

The video has the information you seek. I'm not sure why we're having this discussion.

I think Fast Sync lets four GPU put out an FPS higher than the refresh rate of your monitor. V-Sync limits it to the monitor's refresh rate. I think that's it, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not correcting you, because I'm asking, but wouldn't putting out a higher FPS than the refresh rate CAUSE screen tearing? I don't know, just wondering

No, because it syncs the available frames with the refresh or something like that.

Sounds right from what I heard in the past.

Watch the video. He explains how Fast Sync works and why this doesn't happen.
