RX580 on a 144Hz panel

Memorizer

Okay!

So I'm looking everywhere to find a decent 1080p144Hz panel but 1 thing struck me, would it be worth the money to spend on a 144Hz monitor if you are only using an RX580? (which is, tbh, can't really pull a stable >100fps on DX11 games) Or I could just find a 120Hz(maybe 60Hz) monitor to save some money?

I appreciate your responses :)

What are the games you play?
If esports games then yes, 1080p 144Hz is fine for RX 480/580 but if not, just get 1080p 60-75Hz monitor

It will definitely help in Esports titles (That where its most useful anyway), but if you will still notice a difference if its doing above 60.

The 144Hz specification means the Maximum the monitor can push the refresh rate, like the LG 25UM58-P. It's 75Hz that means it's limited to 75 Frames per Second.

Don't worry about the ability of the card that can only push to 50 FPS example, while the monitor supports to 144 FPS.

You can actually overclock the Maximum refresh rate, but it's not easy as overclocking RAM, CPU, and GPU

As long as you're well above 60, then it's still a big benefit over 60 Hz. You don't need to hit 144.

I'm still saving money to buy R6:Siege; and I doubt CSGO will reach <60fps with an RX580.

Thank you for your opinions though, it really helps alot :)

Basically it's still worth my gold bars if I play esports games most of the time, right?

WHAT CPU? CS Go is kinda more CPU bound. And you are right, my 480 can reach 200 fps no problem for CS GO same as my old GTX 760

R5 1600

Edit: I'm sure a 1600 will able to run CSGO no problem at all

Same but I got stuttering all the time lol. Capping at 76Hz at 1600x900 for my 60hz screen but since @Memorizer is planning to buy 144Hz I doubt he need anything beyond that

I won't even bother to overclock a monitor lol 144Hz is enough for my eyes. :D

If R6 Siege is what you are going for, a monitor with low delay (1ms) is more important. Since a 144Hz panel is far from cheap, make sure you buy one with low delay.

But 1ms response time is still useful anyway right?

Wrong word from me. I meant a monitor with the low input lag

Of course, in the form of image quality. If you are spending that much on a monitor, better get one that's good in every aspect.
