A capitalist company being greedy is certainly not new. Its their job to make money, I respect them for taking a gamble that was removing the headphone jack. It worked out for them in the end.

apple not using USB C because they have to pay the creators, and not including headphone jack to save money isn't reasonable. Yes, they sold a lot but I'm sure most people would want the headphone jack.

You can buy them online, not from Apple but from 3rd parties. Apple has 0 obligation to sell replacement parts. Name one computer or smartphone OEM that does.

Why the hell would i buy from a third party? samsung and LG (Top android based phone manufacturers in the u.s.)

Absolutely can't wait for this right to repair law to hit texas, Although apple will probably do the same thing they do with touch ID anyway. Anti-consumerism.

Uhhh, what? Thunderbolt is a standard connector. USB is a standard connector. Are you just salty about lighting?

Not thunderbolt, The Lightning connector, did you forget we're talking about phones?

9 minutes ago, DrMacintosh said:

Every OEM has a markup price, so does Apple.

Not as steep as apple, clearly you've never looked at spec sheets. Why would i sacrifice raw performance for optimization? I prefer to futureproof.

bringing up old cr*p, nice.

Still happened, You can't deny that.

Apps on the App Store are infact 3rd party, and you can sign your own apps using apps like impactor.

I'm not talking about the app store i'm talking about making apps on a desktop and directly importing them via usb. i also like having more languages than swift (the best they can do). not natively supporting linux or python is a deal breaker) also why should i need to use a 3rd party? AND! when i do import an app it's much more user friendly to just open a file explorer and launch the .APK

Just like every other computer that has ever existed? Wow I didn't realize that old hardware performs worse as you try to run newer and newer software on it. Who woulda thunk it!

1) Once again this comes down to raw performance over optimization. if you ever look at benchmarks of ios devices running different firmwares it's obvious they intentionally slow devices down manually 2)Have you ever picked up an iphone 4s or ipad 2 running ios 9.2.3? you'll quickly realize they're basically unusable compared to ios 7 or 8. 3) running different operating systems or programs sure, but if something is gimped by an oem software update you've got a problem.

28 minutes ago, DrMacintosh said:

Look, I'm sorry you think Apple is anti-consumer. If they were Apple would not be doing so well. Most of your issues are created and are easily fixable.

No, people are buying ios devices from outdated terms like "They just work" and won't look at any other products on the market. If you haven't noticed apple sales are actually decreasing.

You have two options here, bluetooth or a lighting/audio splitter that can be picked up for like $10

That's just another unnecessary thing to buy, Why would i spend $649 if i know i'm not getting the complete package? and why would i buy something just to spend more money? An unnecessary compromise.

34 minutes ago, DrMacintosh said:

This has not context nor does it present an issue with the phone........

1) It's a setting i'm in every day with my s4 (older battery, that's the same on every phone.

2) Every day i just sit by a wall at lunch and watch videos on youtube till i have to get back to class (I'm great at parties... nope)

You just said you can pick up adapters for $10, "Yeah you can use this feature you've been using for years but this time it'll cost you $10

I know the phone ships with one, but with how easy it is to loose i'd rather not take my chances.

Bluetooth? really? i'd rather just stick with my Senheiser CX3.0 's i've been using for the past year. (I actually do recommend them)

Having the right to fix your own phone should be your right as a consumer and i'm sorry you promote anti-consumerism that way.

Installing that app you make in the first place is what's ridiculous, and why would anyone favor looks over usability? who cares if it's elegant or not? if you're a private developer like me you don't care about that.

It isn't free business, it's also not specific to repair shops ether, so me fixing my own phone make me a bad person? Me paying someone to fix my phone is a bad thing? The closest apple store to me is a four hour drive away, Having a product restricted to being repaired exclusively at one store is what's "Sleezy".

I never once said the right to repair bill was preventing you from fixing your own device period. It's preventing you from buying OEM parts directly from the manufacturer. You're starting to sound like a broken record at this point.

The Right to repair bill would not open the user up to buying the parts, only the repair shops.

The right to repair bill benefits the repair shops at the manufacturers expense.
