1080 or ti

BlackHat2000
Go to solution Solved by maartendc,

I'll be the voice of reason here:

1070 costs $380, lets take that as a baseline.

1080 is 30% faster and costs 30% more, at $500, so is a good value.

1080Ti is 25% faster than the 1080, but costs 40% more, at $700, so you are getting less performance per dollar.

I'd say 1080 is the better buy in terms of performance per dollar, and can max out anything up to 4K. Only if you want to do 4K at  higher than 60fps you need a 1080Ti or better.

If you are Dagobert Duck and swimming in a pile of gold, get the 1080Ti. No scratch that, get Quad Titan XP's in that case.

if you have the money then get the 1080ti, but what res / fps are you wanting to play at?

If they cost the same go for ti, if not and you are rich go for ti, if you feel like your wallet is too heavy go for ti.

If you are deciding between 1070 and 1080 then just apply the same algorithm.

More like this:

1070 ---> 20-25% more --> 1080 --> 30-35% more --> 1080 ti

But funny how noone asked his resolution.

so... what resolution / Hz are you even playing at? What is your CPU?

Without any information it's 100% impossible to recommend you something. Other than: Take the 1080 ti, it's faster. Obviously.

If you're gaming at 1440p, go with the 1080
