Nah. You'll need to lower your settings somewhere.

A steady 144FPS at 1440p? No.

My i7-4790K and GTX 980Ti (which is roughly on par with a GTX 1070) runs at about 100FPS at max settings in BF1. It's close.

It could be possible on low. Hard to say. My 1070 usually hits 60 fps on AAA games at 1440p. 1080ti is necessary for 144hz 1440p I hate to say.

1440p 144FPS is generally hard to achieve and a lower refresh rate isn't going to do much. Just stick with 144Hz.

Where are you going to find a 100Hz monitor in the first place?

My friend uses a 1070, gets 165 fps high settings 1440p on Overwatch. Not the most demanding game of course, but you do not need a 1080Ti for high FPS 1440p

How many times do I have to say AAA games. That's what I wrote. I get similar results in Overwatch as well.

It has more pixel count as it is an ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor vs regular widescreen 2560x1440 so it would be harder to squeeze frame rate out of it

I have 4790k, with 1070 and 1440p 165hz.  And while a faster GPU would be nice, this setup can push 80-100 fps in any game I've played, with maxed out settings.  If you want to push fps up to 144 you just need to disable Anti-Aliasing or drop settings down a notch.  Also, any game that is not AAA graphics will easily run at 144fps.
