So I got this today using the powerline adapters my laptop is connected through. Not great, but it's enough for me to do what I need. Especially when I'm meant to be getting 30 down and 2 up.

Sitting here with Hughes Net Satellite because no other ISP runs their lines where we live. And I see people complaining about some of their speeds? smh

Live in BC, on Shaw 50. Get this speed fairly consistently, often it is closer to 53-55.

Finally my days of having just the 0,5 Mb/s shared internet connection from my phone is over. We pay for 20 Mb/s down and 1 Mb/s up, but this is enough for me at least.

You're getting the exact speeds I would like to have as a minimal except for the upload.. I would love to get into streaming but I can't. Also I've been stuck with the same issue from my ISP.. They fixed it and I replaced my cheap Netgear wireless piece with This. That Gigabyte card did remove my pings of 100-1500+.. Yes I did just say 1500+. Also helped a lot with getting rid of a spotty signal.

Now I get this with me on only.

Problem is I'm supposed to get 3Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up..

I live right outside the service area of a local isp that has cheap gigabit fiber, all I can get is comcast :(. Not too bad though, since I pay for 25/5 and can consistently get 29mbps download speeds.

That's nice, but wouldn't it make more sense if you had like 20+ up? I just think 2 up is really low for having 100 down..

Edit: Added my result

Paying for 3Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up. All four computers are running. With two to three on my ping is in the 30s and still getting 2Mb/s down, for some reason it can't budge past 2.1Mb/s down.

Yeah, that would be nice.. A shame DSL and fiber aren't available on my road but everywhere else in my town of 600-700 people.. :(

Will post my at home speeds when I can. At home I have Cox which just upgraded from 60Mbs to 120Mbs. Not quite Google Fiber Speeds but I am happy. For now.

 

Edit: Also, need to mention that I am using a proxy server in VA in the USA but I am really in San Diego, CA. It is weird but the internet works better that way. lol.

Last time I did it I got like 1,7 down and 0.3 up and a 112 Ping... The site doesn't even work for me now...

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.
