"University of..." What's your connection at home?

I live on campus so effectively that is the speed I get :).

Try testmy.net in case it's inaccurate.

That test gave me like a 1.6mpbs transfer rate was much slower.

From Perth, Australia.

When everyone gets really fast speeds I'm sad as Mr Tony Abbott be like "you only need 20mbs" for the future and all that.

God damn it Mr Prime Minister, what about streaming content huh? Them 4G phones be gettin' about 30-40 down and about 15-20 up almost about anywhere, I thought wired was meant to be faster than wireless but you, Tony, are really making it harder...

Apparently this site is more accurate, but it also shows averages not just maximums.

And Luke was complaining about 4mbs, this ain't too far off :/

Romanian internet and this isn't even the limit. I have a 1Gbps download limit. All praise Eastern European internet. Also, no limitations, no throttling, we can visit any website any time, any torrent tracker and such downloads sources. Come join the dark side! We have awesome internet for very low prices. For this 1Gbps down 100Mbps up connection I pay $16 VAT included.

Living at DTU campus. Just move 500m away and the Internet connections drop down to max 50/10 async connections, which really sucks... Considered that is 500m away from the Danish Internet Exchange...

Take a look at http://k-net.dk that is our provider, and I am sitting in the board of that.

Interesting. Well, I guess I'm stuck with what the cables in my area can handle. I'll be moving to Copenhagen soon, though. However I'm not sure that is necessarily an upgrade in that regard. As long as it doesn't dip below 10 mb/s I'm all right. After all, I use the internet for some gaming, youtube, a bit of streaming and other regular internet stuff. What do you use your connection for? Do you need that much speed or is it just because you can?
