Paying for 350/35, so not too bad. I'd happily lose half the download for twice the upload, but it's reliable enough that I don't mind, and not having any data caps is a blessing!

Having said that, the Hub 3.0 (I think it's Samsung tech underneath) is *actually* a steaming pile of shit with electricity running through it. :)

I'm British as well, have you not had the upgrade to 500Mb yet from Virgin? 1.1Gb is currently being rolled out, my 19y/o nephew's area near Birmingham is now apparently enabled for it but... long story, don't wanna bore anyone!

Anyways, this is what I've had for the last 4 years currently at £45/month.

FTTB - fibre to the apartment building, then Cat 5e ethernet cable to each apartment.

Poland here, living in a small village next to the Czech border and for the last ~25 years I was stuck with a telephone line copper wire. At first it was ~1.5 USD per hour on a simple 28kbits modem, than ~2004 they provided unlimited 128kbits (don't remember the price, I wasn't paying the bills) upgraded to 256kbits, 512kbits, 1024... and finally around 2009 they maximized the speed of the hardware to it's limits at 20mbits down / 1mbit up that I had since.

Half a year ago, finally, freaking FINALLY, fiber connections started to appear here, four providers in a matter of months, so I took the cheapest one and am happily using it since february, 600/60 line for ~15 USD and it seems stable. Coulda get the 1GB for ~20 USD, but I figured, how will I use it?

I think the last two upgrades we actually asked for, still got them for free, but before that it was automatic and we'd get a letter & email soon after. Fingers crossed they'll do that this time :D

maybe it all is just tubes. (1G/1G) 79.99/mo, 9.99 Static IP fee, 9.99 tech fee (even with your own equipment, this is a Prepay for any service you may need to have done,  recently had them repull my 1500ft fiber drop from the hub to my house for free.)

Hi, fellow forum users.

The connection speed displayed above was tested on a desktop computer connected to LAN via a Gigabit Ethernet connection(up and down) and a CAT6 ethernet cable.

Currently I pay 3847JPY (35USD Approx.) for a Gigabit fibre connection to my home. However, I do have a connection linked with my mobile phone connection for the family so the price may be a bit cheaper than buying only a home internet connection.

The fibre connection means an optical fibre is connected directly to my home, not like other services that claim to have "fibre" internet when they only have fibre to the nearest node.

Generally my connection is quite stable and seldom drops under 500Mbps.

I'm not new to seeing 900 down (have 1gbit) but symmetrical is impressive (get 50 up).
