My speeds on ADSL 2+ in New Zealand. Down is normally 18MBPS however. Can't wait for Fibre! Unfortunately my street doesn't get fibre until XMAS 2014 :( Maybe I'll have to move ;)

Oh and I get 200GB and a VOIP Phone with free local calls for $100NZD / month. Which is about $85USD. 200GB is consided HUGE in New Zealand -.- Silly people. Haha.

I love all technology. The perfection of macs for my designer side, and the hardware and fun of tinkering on the of the pc side. We can have it all, just not at the same time.

I pay for a 20mbits upload, but get 24.48mbits.. But I would prefer to get my full 100mbits down, instead of a bigger upload ^^

This is what happens when you live in Scotland.

The other side of the town is getting fibre and hopefully this side next year.

Also its basically a 56k connection as the internet dies when someone calls our house.

At least we have pretty good prices here due to good competition between providers, and a law that states that no communications company is allowed to bind you by contract. we can leave whenever we want to, I can connect to one company and leave the next day with no fine. so the prices are ok. I pay about 30$ unlimited (there is no such thing as limited internet here, also cellular) 15 down, 1 up.

Usually around 13.5mb/s down and same upload as this, just my laptops network card is slow and old. Ping is also usually lower at 42-45. Pretty fast for where I live. Cumbria, UK

Well I just did a little testing - casually downloaded a 1 GB test file from a NC (USA) server in 9.1s - 840Mbit - Boom. Next file comes in at 416Mbit.

Still working out how exactly to test upload speeds on Linux without anything too complicated. God I love these speeds, shame it isn't my home connection.

Edit: anyone got any good locations for European test files 1GB or bigger?

Can't test my work connection since they block access to most sites, luckily I had this site and few others unblocked but they refuse to unblock the speedtest sites.

Currently sat on a 1Gbps down and 1Gbps up connection.

Will run it when I get home though on my free connection thank's to working for my ISP and running a test modem, which I don't pay for but they have not turned it off yet so I am using it for as long as possible.
