i5-6600K vs i5-7600k

Is the i5-7600K worth the price instead of the 6600K. It's not much of a difference but of what I have seen, people usually build the pc with a 6600K but rarely with a 7600K; why?

Cause 7600K is locked down to Windows 10 only

the only real difference is that the 7600k has octane support and is slightly higher clocked so it's worth getting over the 6600k, but tbh both are pretty much irrelevant now as the ryzen chips are out

Sadly it is true.

i5 7600k has better support for faster RAM and support for 4k Netflix.

That said, R5 1600 is a better choice.

The i5 died because of Ryzen. I will pay so much more to get a good mobo, and cooler to OC that I might as well get a locked i7-7700

I can think of a bunch of friends who got a high-ish end laptop with a quad core CPU just for Office and Netflix :P

A) Do you have a motherboard already?

B) What  is your budget and what is your monitor?

C) What GPU?

If you do have a Z170 mobo, and only need a CPU to complete your build, get a 6700k/7700k

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I would get a b350 tomahawk, an AOC G2460VQ6 , for gpu a RX 480 or 570 and budget around 1200€

(This for a ryzen build)
