I have a 75 hertz display but Im only getting 60 fps???

I bought this brand new LG Display that says it is 75 hertz. When I got everything hooked up and ready to go, I was capping at 60 fps, which confused me because I thought 75 hertz means that I SHOULD be getting 75 fps.

Does the connector type you are using support 75Hz?

So you say FPS, you mean in games? Are the games capped to 60 FPS? Also if you mean you are only getting 60 Hz, go to display settings in windows 10 then click adapter properties and change the monitors refresh rate from there.

Change the Display settings in-game to 1920x1080@75Hz instead of @65Hz.  Also you need to have Windows display settings set to 75 Hz as well.  Just plugging in a new monitor it may stay at 60Hz even tohugh the monitor supports higher.

I'm willing to bet any amount of money your windows display settings are the root of the issue, windows wont output more then 60hz unless you actively tell it to.

When I go to change the setting, it only shows 1920x1080@60Hz

The higher refresh rate might only be supported at lower resolutions over certain connection types.

Then buy Dual Link DVI-D and it should work on 75hz or even more, regardless you'll have to set a custom refresh rate on nVidia control panel.

The monitor only has 1 VGA, 1 DVI-D, and 1 HDMI 2.0
