i5 vs i7 - Worse results with i7??

I swapped my i5 4690k for an i7 4790k.  Superposition is giving slightly lower overall results with the i7.  Timespy results are giving lower graphics score?! I am confused.

Looks within margin of error to me...

Super strange.

try either putting back your i5, and seeing if results improve again

or

disable hyperthreading on your i7 to see if that makes a difference.

Clean install drivers with DDU? TimeSpy should perform way better with the i7, because it can use more threads...

It's called margin of error. There are small inconsistencies in game/benchmark runs, which is why differences between 1 and 3 fps are not seen as real differences (when talking about an fps of about 60fps or higher).

The Timespy CPU part of the benchmark has a higher score (not like a 2 times better score, so maybe it doesn't fully utilize the 4 extra threads) and the GPU score is like 1fps difference.

thats a strange one, reinstall GPU drivers and re run the benchmarks and avrage them out for both CPUs though

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

its good, its like the new Valley or Heaven

Even if that was true, it's still very weird. The i7 is clocked at 4GHz vs the i5 which is clocked at 3.5GHz O.o

never seen it act like this but i have also never run it myself, i have done the exact same swap but i have been running pretty hefry OCs on the I5 which i cant on my I7 now.

Yeah, Heaven and Valley are practically single core benchmarks right now :P Superposition is affected by the CPU, but only slightly

The point of a benchmark is to test the computer's performance...

If it is "not really affected by the CPU" then that means it is pretty useless.

gpu load is at 99% in both tests
