GPU starts posting after boot sequence

Hello guys.

I have a little problem. I just bought a new Aorus RX 580 XTR 8GB. There's nothing wrong with but I'm using an old monitor Asus VH228D which has only VGA so i bought some reduction VGA to DisplayPort and there's a problem that the gpu won't post until lock screen appears, until gpu drivers starts in windows (which is when lock screen appears). It's not a big problem but i have no way of getting into BIOS to tweak my settings and that's a serious problem for me because i like to overclock. I assume it's that reduction i bought that causing this problem. Is there something i can try, do? Thanks for any help.

you can use onboard video to access bios in this situation, assuming you have onboard video...........

GPU's can be funky during POST in terms of what outputs they use for bios/post/splash screens though, do you have an HDMI telly you can plug the PC in to ? in order to access the bios through your GPU
