Lol. Fraps kills your frames drastically and uses a lot of storage space. OBS is much lighter while gaming.

whats your gpu? you better off using what amd or nvidia has to offer, those stuff are what helps frame rate most

amd has relive and nvidia has shadowplay (now known as share afaik)

FRAPS records in (almost) lossless quality... if there is something to kill your frames it is FRAPS.

Your OBS was not set up properly.

Do you have an Nvidia GPU 700 series or newer? If so, swap to OBS and change the encoder from x264 to NVENC. Has exactly no impact on your framerate.

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14 inch ------ One day I'll have a desktop again...

Eh I never really bothered with the settings so u see why, but I just tried recording and fraps was PERFECT 100% playable while recording.

If you only record for 30s, how can you say its perfect compared to anything.

Anyway, you might try MSI Afterburner too.

It's perfect for not killing as many frams as my poorly optimized OBS settings
