1070 Upgrade from 1060

Hey I built my first ever PC back in August and I've loved it so far. So much in fact I think I want to make the jump to 1440p OR 1080p 144hz monitor.

I want to upgrade to a 1070 from my current 1060 but I am worried my CPU will bottleneck.

My build is below and note I will be getting more RAM and an SSD

Thoughts? Any specific cards I should look at?

EH,  any 1070 or 980 ti will do well.  Get the cheapest one you like the aesthetics of.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

My CPU won't bottleneck? I feel like it's just slightly underpowered for the card

It will definitely bottleneck a 108p,  get 1440p and you should be OK.  If you can afford it wait for next gen 8700/8700k, should have 6c/12t and fit on your current mobo.  Perfect upgrade.  Another option is getting a cheap kaby/sky i7 second hand.

Total budget?

I don't really know yet, I know I don't want to go any higher than $550 at all, but if a really good option is out there, eh.

Definitely get a 6700/6700k second hand for $220 and a 1070 for $330 (amazon rn, evga ftw 1070 for $330)

No way, 1440p/1080p 144hz both start at $200-250
