How do kids not know anything else other than WiFi ?

Watch that, now think about this, not long a go, PS3 and XBOX 360 were connected using either ethernet or the terrible WiFi (PS3 was terrible for WiFi)

 

A lot of devices still used ethernet...

 

How do these people have no sense of history with technology yet they are using it?

 

Are they never taught?

They're probably just too "mainstream" to know much about computers. Not everyone is like you or me where we had our faces shoved in a PC when we were three (or in my case building one with my dad when I was three).

Oh, i never was shoved with it, i learnt it all off my own back from my teens upwards.

 

Only my father got me into gaming around age 5 in 90's.

I was never taught by anyone, but then again i find interest in a lot of areas other than technology.

 

Everyone else seems lazy is all... at least have some knowledge about what you are using.

I dont fucking know. I go to high school and I literally know only two kids who know how to build/use computers properly. Its astonishing really, as computers are becoming more and more a part of our daily lives.

Its a different generation todays gamers, All about instant gratification, I remember LAN'ing back in the day, man we learnt a lot about Networking, File sharing. Hell I ever learnt what Regedit is thanks to trying to change CD-keys so we could play on LAN. 

 

With everything online now kids just click on steam and thats as far as computers ever goes for them. Why you think there is so many things on youtube like how to swap a graphics card. 

 

Also yeah the amount of people who think WiFi means internet is insane.

they couldn't even turn it on in the first try how hard is it to tell the difference between a computer and a monitor

I grew up in the 90's too and knew about records, 8 track players ect ect. This generation is just coddled on what's in the now. I used to be upset at seeing those same kids be completely baffled at trying to operate a Walkman or an old school Gameboy, but it's not worth the anger.

Well, the video you linked is heavily staged and not to mention, below shit tier. When it comes right down to it, the only kids that don't remember these things are going to be the ones that couldn't really do much because of how young they were.

There's also the fact that not everyone is interested in technology anyways. Different people have different interests, even if light gaming is an overlapping one.
