Well as far as lasting goes, my vote has to go to the MacBook again. But having a price limit would help a lot.....

Yea the only good MacBook keyboards are the 2015 pros and the airs. Apple should put more into keyboards than big ass trackpads

have to agree with that, sad to see them leave the pro market.

To each his own I guess

The new keyboard seems to be a polarizing topic but I can say that I really like it. Not having massive key travel isn't a deal breaker and Im very much used to my G610 with MX Blue switches.

I guess I can just adapt quickly to whatever I'm using.

Same I'm fine using the 2016 keyboard I tried it in store but my friend isn't as adaptable

Macbooks are great but for OP its not worth it, understand that most people can't spend that much on a stock laptop.

Can't wait to see the Mac Pro refreshes. Well after four years it better be more than a refresh.

We're in middle school our school system does a lot of teaching on devices, I bring my iPad she brings a phone and wants a bigger screen so she dosent need a lot of power but she wants good battery.  But she does want it to last thru high school.

In the case a simple chromebook would do, longer battery life than any laptop and only around 300 dollars.

use cases differ depending on the person, the newer MacBooks can't really compare to the older ones.

It needs to last through HighSchool, the only laptop I would be comfortable investing in for that long of a period would be a MacBook. But that is just me.

Unless I have a budget to work with I can't really recommend anything.

Well good thing I have never owned an older MacBook Pro. Cant complain about battery life being short when as far as I'm concerned, it isn't.

I don't see how you can think a machine with those specs is for FaceBook and casual use.......Sure there are more powerful laptops than the MacBook, but they also weigh more and lack build quality.

the 15" models are the Pro machines, the 13" models have an argument for you but they are still very capable computers.

I don't know what preconceived notions you have regarding dual core CPUs, but they are still extremely relevant. Just don't be excepting to output 4k footage instantly.

13" MacBook Air. Every tech review site I read compares battery life against it, as it gets 12+ hours on their battery tests. My cousin uses one for work and only need to charge it every day and a half or something. And it will defo last through high school. It'll probs take her to college if that's what she decides.

I personally don't care if the Apple logo lights up or not. It doesn't affect me and it lets the screen be thinner.
