FOR CS:GO PLAYERS

To all Counter Strike : Global Offensive players:

1. Do you play it with a self-built PC or a pre-built PC (with standard parts)?

2. If so, what are the parts of that PC (mainly CPU + GPU) and how much fps do you get with it (include video settings & map)

3. If possible, include approximate cost of your PC too

[Reason: I am building a gaming PC ~1000 EUR to be used 90% for CS:GO gameplay]

Thanks in advance for your help,

Jacob

To buy something similar now....$800~ probably.

But it's way overkill for just CSGO. You could get 144fps in CSGO for a like $500~.

I couldn't get above 4.5ghz, but I think I'm only at 1.12v.

I couldn't get above 4.5ghz without pushing the voltage above 1.30v, iirc I'm at 1.25v.

LUCKY.

Thanks for your reply,

I would also like to mention that I do understand I can achieve 144 fps consistently for less $... I would still like to have as high fps as possible for competitive game play and constant smooth aim.

Having an fps higher than the refresh rate of the monitor won't help with the smoothness.

I'm runing 6700K @4.5ghz 1.26vcore with gtx 1070 OCed 2050mhz core and +450 on memory on a 1440p monitor.

I run Black Ops 1, which should be roughly the same in terms of how hard to run it is compared to CS:GO

Getting capped 200fps with max settings and around 40% GPU usage.

PC is overkill for CS:GO, but you can get some insane framerates if you want to..

Hi again,

As far as I know, even though the monitor won't be able to display the higher frames per second constantly, it still feels smoother to flick and aim with as high an fps as possible. That's why many people play on very low settings even though they usually have comfortably 144-fps-consistent PC's. To back this up, here's a video from a popular CS:GO Youtuber:

Thanks in advance,

Jacob

No idea why, but you want to go for twice your refresh rate. I'm on mobile at 4am so CBF checking why but for some reason it's way smoother.

I am running a 7700k and a 1070 and FPS is never a issue 300FPS on all maps. with your budget you should be fine.  I play 720P at the moment but even at 1080p I still get 300FPS. I could even get higher FPS but I limit the FPS to 300.

i5 6600 and a 1060 6gb. I'm hitting the 300 fps cap at 1440p pretty consistently in D2 and other maps it's basically 240-300 cap. Unlocking FPS actually doesn't get me anywhere since that's where I'm sitting anyway. My friend with basically the same system but 6600k at like 4.4 gets around 350 on most maps.

That's an F in the profile pic

yes. But if you want to play competitively you will want much more than just your refresh rate. For over $200 get an intel for CSGO

Hi all,

Thanks for your response. I also have noticed other people as well as some streamers cap their fps (fps_max 300) for some reason. Why is this done?

Thanks in advance,

Jacob

There is more input lag with fps_max at 0, also its better to have a consistent 300fps compared to 300-500 FPS going all over the place.
