Ryzen 5 1600 arrived with no thermal paste?!

I ordered a Ryzen 5 1600 from newegg and it arrived today with no thermal paste on the stock cooler, which I am planing to use. This sets me back a few days on my build because I don't possess any frickin paste. I have done some research on the internet, of all places, and found that it is supposed to come with paste preapplied. Should I be concerned that mine did not have thermal paste? Also side note newegg is overnighting me some paste for free. Newegg ftw.

Now I know that I need thermal paste but my fear is that some Joe Shmoe may not know that and is gonna possibly overcook his CPU if he gets one that does not have paste on it. Also Is it worth my time to let amd know that I received a heatsink with no paste?

I would let AMD know but don't make a big deal about it as it might be an isolated incident

^ basically

Planning a future build with the 1600 myself and thankfully have 3 tubes of paste laying around from various coolers lol.

Where would be the best place to do that?

I wouldn't create a support ticket as that implies you need help. Maybe DM their customer support twitter account (if they don't have one then whatever would be the closest) and tell them that it didn't come with thermal paste, probably they'll say k or something or just not give you a response. But if your lucky they'll give you a small refund or a replacement cooler (maybe better then the stock one?) if your lucky.

Of course let them know. This isn't the first time I've read about AMD having cooler issues with Ryzen.

One guy received the cooler without the fan. Another guy didn't receive the cooler at all when it was supposed to be included in the model he bought.

Both went back to the store and got replacements.
