This is my build. Please take a look n let me know if you would make any changes.

1) Will the liquid cooler mount on the ryzen? It shows a warning saying it may not or I might have to buy a mount separately.

"The Cooler Master - Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard."

2) This will be for music production after school and gaming on the side. Sound card is taken care of.

3) Is it worth buying the ryzen 1700x over the 1700 for the extra $50

Hmm i was told i don't need to manually overclock it it should do it itself when in game/rendering/etc? 

 

So what cooling should i get if the current won't mount? so that it will be able to overclock?

Make sure to ask Coolermaster, if that cooler has AM4 mounting (otherwise you can't mount it).

You might also want to look into a better mobo, that mobo doesn't have a very good VRM, look at msi's higher end models like the B350 Tomahawk, Tomahawk Arctic or B350 Krait.

they do.

FTL meant the Power supply to the CPU on that board, but don't sweat it, it will be fine if you don't go balls out on the overclock.

1) get a cooler that definitely will work, don't risk it even if there's biscuits :P

 

2) if you have sound taken care of that's fine, there's probably noboard which will work if you need it but if you have extrenal shit, good

 

3) if your overclocking, no, if your not overclocking, you should really overclock and save a bit of money :P

they do for ryzen, they are almost as good as the X series (0.1GHz max lower), I don't think the intel B chipsets do though

Just use the stock cooler ? Those 120mm/140mm AIO's are poor value anyway.

No they support overclocking. Someone was just referring to the motherboard you have choosen. They were talking about it have less power phases than some of the other b350 motherboards which can affect the max potential overclock you can achieve with that board. Tbh I think it's fine and you should still be able to get a decent overclock with that motherboard. Maybe not 4.0ghz but Tbh you probably don't need 4.0ghz.

Yeah that's what I was going to say. You really shouldn't go with an AIO until you are getting a really nice one. Otherwise a nice air cooler will outperform them most of the time anyways.

Yeah that motherboard has all the power phases you will need to push the 1700 to as far as it can go. Now if you want to be able to push it to 3.9 to 4.0 Ghz you are going to want a nice air cooler or a nice liquid cooler. The nactua am4 air coolers are always a good option.

Pull the trigger. Where do you want to mount the Corsair? Intake or exhaust? Exhaust seems to work..
