Budget mine-craft machine requiring critique

He mainly just places minecrat and rocket legue, but may want to expand a little, but just in 1080p.

 

Rational:

i5-6400 - The cheapest intel quad core available in the uk, and ryzen5isn't particularly cheap, so doesn't quite beat it in terms of price/performance.

1050ti - Seems pretty good value and should be plenty.

MSI B150I GAMING PRO AC - He wants wifi+bluetooth, and this is probably the best priced wifi skylake/kabylake board.

SSD + PSU  -  Cheapest (UK) non-crappy stuff i can find.

COUGAR QBX KAZE - Seems fairly well-reveiwed & I'm curious

Does he really need Quad core if he's just playing rocket leauge and minecraft. he could get something less and cheaper

I kinda feel like minecraft loves a good CPU, and a better GPU wouldn't make a huge difference in minecraft on a 75hz panel, so I think so.

We also need info about storage and RAM, those matter a lot, and many people forget about them.

yeah but if thats all he's gonna play i3-2100 would even do just fine but it's lga 1155 which is a dead socket so I guess not

I can't really promise him that. We just don't really know, and, not to critisize you of fanboyism, the R5 line was just not as good as the R7s against intel. It's a shame, but I'm just not completely confident R3 will be good, and waiting for something which turns out crap could be frustraiting.

r5 was huge success. atleast for me.

you get much more than intel. and there is headroom for improvement also the gaming performance lost is minimal

also some otimizations couse its a full new architecture are needed. see ashes of the singularity before and after

in the next years we should see games optimized for more than 4 cores 8 threads

 

and i know for know intel will perform better thanks to the better clockspeeds

Hard to beat the G4560 right now.  I recently helped my brother-in-law build almost exactly this same machine, minus case/psu.  He plays Warframe on max, World of Warcraft on settings 7 or 8.  Watching some videos of this setup on youtube reveals very good, playable results even in Gears 4, GTA V, etc.  Should be able to handle Minecraft, even with optifine and/or shaders to make it look nicer.   Also, cheap.

Don't get an i5. If he is really just playing minecraft, a G4560 will do great
