rosewill 650w platinum PSU?

24 minutes ago, Blackhole890 said:

its tier 2, pretty nice psu but not the finest even if its platinium certified...

And those cables..

Corsair RMi if possible, or the RMx if you are cheap. (the RMx has a worse fan and no corsair link)

or like almost anything seasonic.

650W 80+platinum for $70? is this a steal or is this bad quality?

i have seen that in pcpartpicker they usually have trusted brands listed on the filters and rosewill is there...

should i still go with this?

Yeah, I usually recommend the RMX since it's still a great unit with a 10 year warranty.

the rosewill has a 5 year warranty and i personally think its enough as in that time... i would almost definitely upgrade everything. and i can always still use it after 5 years and change it when it breaks/ becomes bad. its also platinum rated so i will have much more efficiency compared to the rmx

SSRM series A.K.A G series would be, right?

I know that corsair link is a gimmick, but the better quality fan really matters, quieter and will last longer.

Anyway i bought it for 1p more than the RM850x so i cannot argue.

Basically, get a good PSU and you never have to replace it. Buy a RMx etc and it will outlast your processor etc.

Not much cheaper: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Rp8H99/corsair-power-supply-cp9020091na

By far that think will mince the rosewill in terms of lifespan, 650w is plenty and is better quality.

Why pay double to replace the PSU when it dies when you can pay more now for longer lasting?

You almost obvously came here set on something and are not interested in changing.

The quark is a very good PSU. Just because people are mindlessly recommending the RMx/RMi and Seasonic G series, doesn't mean you should listen to them.

The RMi/RMx are better, but it isn't worth spending the extra money on them unless you want their warranty.

Adding on: Platinum is not a big difference over gold, like less than a few dollars a year saving if anything.

The Quark is cheap because it's ugly and semi-modular with spaghetti-colored cables. It's a very good unit though.
