[QUESTION]which is better xeon e5620 or intel q6600?

hey guys

in front of me this two processors

intel xeon e5620 2.4 ghz quad core and intel q6600 2.4 ghz quad core

i will use them most properly for gaming and some rendering but mostly for gaming so which will be better for me?

if u ask about ram will be 8-12 gb and same gpu (suggest one for AAA games)(N.P was gtx 970)

Firstly Q6600 does overclock to about 3.4GHz, but lacks hyperthreading. Xeon on the other hand does not overclock, but has hyperthreading.

Personally I would not pick either of those for gaming. Clock speeds on both CPU-s are too low for modern AAA games. And Q6600 even at 3.4GHz is still old as mummy sh*t in today`s standards.

The Xeon is the better CPU. It is newer and has  4 cores 8 threads while the q6600 has only 4 cores. In addition to that the Xeon features a better architektures. But keep in mind that you will need a FCLGA1366 socket board for the Xeon while the Q6600 requires a LGA775 socket. 1366 mainboards are way more expensive then 775 ones. I would even consider a Ryzen 5 1400 if you can afford it. When you compare CPUs from different architektures you can't just compare the frequenzy, improvements in IPC and architekture can result in a higher clocked old CPU performing worse then a lower clocked new CPU. Make sure that you check that your ram features the right standard (DDR2, DDR3, DDR4).

i am not searching for today shitty specs i am making a low end gaming pc i will not buy gtx 970 since i need money so any other processors less shittier but not expensive the prices is quiet high in my country and it's hard to find new hardware so i will depend on the old use processors :D

I don't about your local market but in my country the one you propose (the xeon one) is 50 dollars more expensive than my suggestion lol
