Anyone know what this connector is?

Technomonster0

Hi, This is from a cpu fan that is acting up. I assume the problem is this connector. Anyone know what this is? Thanks!

That looks to be a proprietary connector not the common standard but what happened it looks like part of it melted.

Do you have a photo on the board end if it's from a laptop it can vary heavily as many use different styles of connectors.

Yes

Thought so. I repair computers for a living. You'll have to find a day specifically for your laptop model. There isn't a standard.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

By any chance is there a way to 3d print this connector?

Might be possible if you can find a model or make one, it would need to be a pretty good print quality however due to the tiny moldings inside that align to metal terminals and the plastic tabs.

It's somewhat specialized, if you have an electronics shop that specializes in RC stuff they might have some on hand but mostly your best off to order them off Ebay or somewhere online.

Looks like they specialize in that stuff, bring the connector with you to see if the staff can help source you one, with the spec number on the replacement. The JST connectors are fairly commonly used in RC stuff especially in different balance charge leads so you never know.

Able to get a new one?

Check to see if the system recognizes an RPM signal within the BIOS sounds like the fan may be faulty or a bad connection.
