1080p Surround Question

So I am ordering a 1080 TI shortly and need some advice. I currently have a BenQ XL2420G (1080p 144hz Gsync) monitor that I really like. I am thinking about going Surround when I get the 1080TI. If I just get two more 1080p monitors that are identical to one another, should surround work properly? Also, if the other 2 displays I got were just 60hz, could I use my BENQ at 14460hz still? Thanks!

You can do that but your 144hz monitor will need to run at 60hz for surround

and why is that? I've never looked into this myself nor have i the means of testing it, but why would it need to run 60hz? especially with the pascal SMP feature, it feels like this would be the sort of thing that would be possible.

Also, I've read that you need 3 monitors with the same sync polarity. What is that and how do I find out what mine is? (I'm only going to run 2D surround if that matters)

The frames have to be synced across the monitors due to how [Surround] works. The best that you could do is run borderless + INI to get the monitors to use their full power, though your experience will differ from game to game.

Nope no SLI for this guy. Just sold my two 980s because SLI support is dying IMO.

Surround basically software switches your 3 monitors into one. All parts of that screen must be identical.

If you want to keep the high refresh rate gonna need three that support it. Wont need to be the same. Matching res's would help and the refresh rate you want. Don't see gsync is gonna work as they will work as one monitor but who knows.

Hope that 1080ti can be playable on surround 1080p. Gonna get a second 1080 for my other rig so I can finally play using mine.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

Haven't run into many games that don't hit 60Hz minimums with a 1080. Assuming you mean 5760x1080.

Yea it "works" but I don't like turning down the setting to get decent frames.

I play everything on Ultra and I lower AA by two steps if possible.

My frame time goes into the high teens low twenties. That's unplayable for me. My old cards play every game better except BF1 which I had to stop playing anyway.
