H100i temps

I just reinstalled my H100i to my current computer and noticed that the temps seemed off. I have a 4670k with 2 noctua fans running at 1000 rpm with temperatures at 45-50C on idle and 80C on load. It seems higher than when I was using my hyper 212 cooler.

CPU: Intel i5 4670k @ 4.4Ghz | Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero | RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Black | GPU: Asus Strix 1080 Ti | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro | Storage: 2x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO | PSU: Seasonic 80+ Platinum 1000W | Display: ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q Cooling: Corsair H100i GT | Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Red | Mouse: Logitech G502 | Audio: Beyerdynamic DT-880 Premium with O2 DAC/AMP

That does seem a bit hot. What is your ambient temperature? At 20 degrees celsius, I would expect load temperatures in the 60's or high 50's as long as the cpu isn't overclocked. Try reinstalling, you might not have mounted correctly, also make sure fans and pumps are running correctly.

CPU: Intel i7-4790K @ stock for now --- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16Gb --- MOBO: Asus Maximus VII Formula --- GPU: MSI Gaming GTX 980ti --- PSU: Corsair AX860i  ---  Storage: Samsung 850 250gb(OS), 3x Western Digital Blue 3tb (one for game and programs, two for media), 3tb WD Green(somewhat backup) and a Crucial M550 120gb SSD (caching games and programs drive)  --- Case: Fractal Define R5 --- Cooler: Corsair H100i with Noctua 2000rpm, Industrial Fans --- OS: Windows 10 --- Monitor: Asus PB298q + AOC l2260SWD --- Mouse: Logitech G502 Spectrum --- Keyboard: Corsair K70 (Cherry MX Red) Red LED's --- Audio: Audio Engine A2's (yes the originals), Sennheiser HD 58x Jubilee Audio-Technica ATH-AD900x, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, Ant Lion Mod Mic V4 --- Laptop: Dell XPS 9750

Ambient is around room temperature. Fans are good, pump is at max rpm. I'll definitely try reinstalling and reapplying the paste, might of put too much possibly?

when you reinstall the cooler look at the TIM that is left behind before you clean it off.  There should only be a very thin layer on the cpu/waterblock and if there is a part or all of it that is thick then it isn't making good contact.

Also check your cpu's voltage, motherboards like to do all sorts of funny things with that until you set it your self

are the temps the same or better with the stock h100i fans?

one item to look into is the h100i mod:

It seems like I may have put too much paste. Temps are now around 40C. Was still expecting it to be lower though, could it just be because of lifespan?

As far as cpu voltage goes. I have it @ 1.4V stable @ 4.4Ghz.
