searching for the prefect ultrawide monitor

fastcar123

I'm looking for a 21:9 monitor.

I have terrible eyes so I need the largest size I can get.

I was wanting 3440x1440 but I can do with 2560x1080.(not sure on the exact sizes)

I also need to have 100 or me Hz refresh rate and very low response time 1-4ms would be best.

The caveat here is that I don't want to spend more than $350.

I want to hook this monitor up for games and have 2 1080 4:3's on either side for production.

I know that's a pretty ridiculous amount of real estate but I wouldn't be using it all the time.

I am a bit concerned that my RX480 8GB won't be able to drive that many pixels though.

let me know if you come across something.

Best monitor i've ever had the pleasure of using or owning.

also about £1000, so an utterly useless suggestion

At 100hz it's going to be tough and the only 100hz freesync monitor is almost $1000! almost all freesync monitors seem to be 75hz and well $600-1000+...

There are ultrawides in your price range but not with 100hz.

These are really the only 100hz monitors to look at.

X34 (Gsync)

PG348q (Gsync)

CF791 (Freesync)

Omen X 35 (Gsync)

I can't recommend anything in your price range mainly as you want 100hz+

LG has stuff in your area but only 75hz and 1080p ultrawide...

i dont really care if it's free sync. The refresh rate is more important to me in this case. And if I need to go with 1080 then so be it. Like I said I feel like id be stressing my rx480 too hard for 1440 anyway

No, you might be able to get it to 75 hz though. Also 29" 21:9 is not big (it's about the same height as a 24" 16:9), I have one and it feels very small to me.

There is nothing in your price range that meets your asks. You will have to compromise on some things (definitely refresh rate) if you want something that cheap.

You can find a 34" 1080p 21:9 for about $400 but it'll be 60hz and maybe OC to 75 if you're lucky.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

I currently have a 24" screen now. its nice but I would like some more real estate.

What if I bump up to $450 and save up for a bit?

Also I'm pretty sure it wont, but if I get a freesync monitor and my output framerate is higher than that of my monitor, it will NOT overclock the monitor correct?

ok well with that said what about 2560x1080?

You're out of luck at your price point. No such panel exists or probably will exist anytime soon

You also have to keep In mind a 34" ultra wide is about the same height as a 16:9 27". If you want a big monitor you've gotta save up the money.
