MicroATX Carrying Bag

Nocte

Hello guys,

I am planning to build a new desktop and deciding between Fractal Node 202 (mITX) and the ThermalTake Versa (mATX) H15 cases.

I need to bring the computers on plane flights. While I have sorted out how I would bring the mITX, I was wondering if anyone knew of trolleys and/or bigger backpacks (with enough protection - no need of hard-cases, can be soft as long as it has enough padding) to carry the 378 x 198 x 411 mm (15 x 7.8 x 16.2 inch) ThermalTake case. I have searched for them for 3 hours yesterday without much luck.

Also, I catch the occasion of this post to ask you if I should remove the GPU and/or other parts to avoid damage in case of turbulences/vibrations.

I don't know of any cases, but my friend bought a suitcase with dense foam on the inside (it looked kind of like soundproofing foam, or the foam inside a gun case), and used that to bring his PC with him on flights.

And yes yes yes remove everything important. Cannot stress that enough. Remove the GPU at the very least, and take even more out if you have the space. I've seen so many horror stories of PCs getting completely rekt on flights because of turbulence or disgruntled TSA employees throwing your shit around.

What else do you think I should take out? I do not have HDDs, only SSDs.

Heatsink/Cooler, and any other cards in your PCI-E slots (ethernet adapters, capture cards, etc). After that, it's pretty much negligible.
