Compare 2 monitors

JorAlv

I have been searching for a new monitor and I have found 2 similar priced monitors: https://m.newegg.com/products/9SIA6R43N20037

https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16824025407

It seems to me that the LG one is much better in every single way except for he high adjustment that I need. Am I losing any advantage of the DELL over the LG? If not, how can they have so similar prices?

Because LG makes a LOT of monitors, from phone screens to TV screens, so they are better at making high quality screens at lower price than its competitors.

If you want height adjustments, you can just put books or magazines beneath it. It's not worth to get an overall worse screen just because of height issues.

The LG is 4K and the Dell is 1440p, these are two completely different monitors.

The LG will in terms of resolution and workspace win easily.

My vote is LG, use something else as high adjustments from ikea or something. Either that or maybe wallmount it?

By the way, both are great monitors and are solid choices, however, we need to know what you will be using them for in order to answer your question.

I will be playing casually GTA V(I will lower the resolution to HD until I buy a new GPU as I have an AMD A10-7870k) but most importantly I will need to use many Windows at the same time and I can't with the 768p screen I have. I will be at a distance of 80cm and therefore, the DPI of the DELL is just perfect, I won't see more pixels in the same screen size. I have a maximum height of 37.6cm and the LG just doesn't fit, I also can't use wall mount. I agree that the LG is much better, not only 4k, but Freesync and 2 hdmi 2.0 instead of one 1.4 apart for displayport.

Do you recommend any other monitor under 37.6cm in height?
