if it didnt make that before, then yea, probably something's wrong? you could check the RPMs with some software or check in bios, if it seems reasonable enough and temps are alright, shouldn't be a problem. but if it bothers you enough or temps are abnormal, get a new fan

My be quiet 120mm fan makes a high pitch squeal when under load. Normal or is something wrong?

Are you sure that the sound is coming from the fan and not something else? 

Does unplugging the fan or stopping it with your hand stop the noise?
