No computers on the floor!!!! and not on carpet please!!!

Noob900

Ain't gonna place my large 750D that weights 20+ LBS on my desk...plus there'd be no space for my monitors, speakers, mic.

I'd never put the PC on a carpeted floor. Wooden floor perhaps. This was our solution however its now sitting on the desk as I had to lower the desk and the gap between underside of desk and top case exhaust fans became too small.

I solved the problem of not enough desk space by buying a shelf.

Can't have my PC on the floor because I'd need to change quite a few cables. Or get extensions. or both.

Why do you care so much? So long as your PC is off the floor, who cares what other people do?

You don't have to have your PSU intaking air from underneath, they work just fine intaking from the case. Switch the case airflow around, so intake from the top (don't forget the dust filters), exhaust out the front & rear. Et voila carpet proof PC.

Well, one:  no space on desk for both my computers, two:  poor desk probably could not handle the main rig, three:  no room for bigger desk.

So, mine stay on the floor.  (and yes, it is carpet).

Yeah, big computer cases are a problem.  Once I have the room, the Caselab TX10 will be my main case and that stinker dwarfs the desk.  :P

Although I'm posting this from my linux box which is sitting on top of my gaming machine.

Currently building a new desk, and my new PC will be on the desk proudly displayed, because the Inwin 301 is tiny.

That sounds cool...

Yes... that might be an issue where having it on the desk would pose a problem.

The case is a Chieftec Bravo, not sure what specific model number, just last month it completed 10 years of life, lol.

The GPU was an Asus GTX 970 Turbo (sold it last friday, bought a 1060 Strix) and the CPU cooler is a Zalman CNPS10X Extreme.

Thanks! Glad to see there's another person that likes it, every now and then i find a person that like it as much as i do.

I'm thinking about retiring it for now in favor a Sugo SG09 by Silverstone, its just too bulky, but i'll keep it stored and eventually build a NAS inside it.

I am personally against putting the desktop on the desk, however I also don't dare putting it on the floor, for me the best solution is under the desk but still elevated somewhat... in my case I compensated the small desk in a not very pretty but effective solution:

Yup! this one!

I already have one of those, which is the one i'm building a pfSense router inside.

I found out that this case fits literally perfectly inside the bookshelf next to my desk, it also fits a 165mm tower cooler (my Scythe Fuma is around 150mm) and graphics cards up to 34cm (my Strix is around 30cm).

Since i'm going to have two systems based on SG09 cases and they are going to be placed side by side, i was thinking about calling them "Solid" and "Liquid", bonus points if you catch the reference :P

The last time I played Metal Gear was Metal Gear Solid on PS in 1998... It was good.... I been away from gaming for years... the last system I got was the PS2 and I still have it and yes its on the floor right now. LOL I'm old though... I remember getting the Saga master system for Christmas and my brother and I had to share it. when we got the NES it was the coolest thing in the world. Mega Man 2 was my favorite game on NES. Well maybe Final Fantasy.....
