You mean to track the mouse with your eye?

Good luck trying to hide that pron your watching a few second ago under a news website, when your parent suddenly barges through your room to see what's up.

27" 4K, no thanks.  I've never looked at my 27" 1440 screens and thought "yeah these need double the DPI".

I really just want an 5K+ 40" screen big enough to replace 3 monitors with 1 monitor.

But I have looked at my 1440p ultrawide and said... fuck this needs individual backlighting zones for better contrast (and IPS glow reduction) and full HDR support.

lol.

For starters it could have a proper design, not this "12 year old gamer" scheme again. Dell really is our only savior as it seems. Also Freesync.

yeah, I hate the design, but like didn't the do the same thing for the Predator 21x? I guess as an Acer product has the word Predator in its name and an x it will look like this.

Basically all Acer and Asus monitors with refresh rates >60Hz look horrible. Normal design please. I'd bet most people that buy these kind of monitors aren't your average kids who appreciate a proper design.

Pretty much.  Not many college kids are dropping $1000+ on a monitor.

The x34 is better than most but I wish the predator logo wasn't there or less big and not as flashy.

Playing devil's advocate a lot of high end monitors now provide DCI-P3 coverage, apart from that this is pretty insane.

But it's what sells.

The irony of "gaming" hardware should really be function over form, but when you spend $2000 on a computer, people seem to think it needs form over function.

What's worse, those monitors claim HDR capable, but the only two HDR standards require Rec.2020, which is an even wider color gamut.

You're alone in that regard 27" is fine for 4k, Especially for everyone with a desk.

I'd agree with @WereCat, 32" on a 16:9 monitor is wayyyyyyyyyy too fucking big for a monitor...TV, its okay but monitor, no...

To be fair, I'm someone who thinks 27" is too big as well where the perfect monitor IMO is a 24" 1440p 144Hz IPS. :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I'll be honest, I've been thinking hard if I'll adapt well to 34inch ultrawide, I honestly feel 29inch is my sweetspot and larger screen might get a bit uncomfortable but I do want to upgrade from the 2560x1080p to 3440x1440p someday...

From my memory, a 34" UW's height will be the same as a 27-28" 16:9 monitor so... :P

Hope that helps to give you a perspective of the size of a 34".

I've seen so many people complaining (even here) about the form part, starting with me. Most 144 Hz QHD/or 4K IPS monitors look like the designers had an accident, so imo we can't even know if normal looking monitors would sell since you can't buy them, and I'm sure people would.I wish Dell would start using IPS instead of TN on their 144Hz.

And naturally, most gaming monitors are black/red. Yay.

Too bad 29" 3440x1440p monitors don't exists :/

I'd probably jump on one if they did...

If there were any I would have bought it, pixel density would be a dream on it and it does have enough screen size to take advantage of it... 34inch 2560x1080p gets so pixelated that I don't get it how manufactures like LG invest on it but shrug to the 1440p on the 29inch variant.

I for one couldn't care less how it looks unless the whole thing is vibrant red. If it has a vesa mount, all I care about is performance.

So if it had every high end spec in the book, but it looked like a giant dildo, you'd be happy rocking that on your desk?
