Buying new graphics card

Hi.

This is my first post here. Not sure if this is the right category to ask this question.

I have an old desktop . I bought this pre built desktop 3 years ago. and now I want to upgrade my graphics card. My budget is 100-180 USD. I like the GTX 1050 Ti. But, can I use it on my computer? if not, which graphics card will be good for me?
Here's my desktop specs:

Power supply: ThermalTake 450 watt (Model:LT-450NL2NK)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE H81M-S2PV Rev2.0

Processor: Intel Core i3 - 4160 @3.60 GHz

RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz

Storage: 1TB HDD

Current graphics card: AMD Radeon HD5450, lol

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64x

Monitor: 1366x768 resolution Dell monitor (Model: E1916HV)

I want to play games like GTA 5 at highest settings with more than 40 FPS.

I'm not a hardcore gamer. But, I might become a hardcore gamer after upgrading, who knows!?

Something like a RX 470 - RX 570 should fit in your budget and is faster than the 1050ti.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Your monitor resolution is a bottleneck. Unless you're upgrading your monitor soon, any entry level card like GTX 1050 or RX 460 is fine. If not, RX 470/570 or RX 480/580 or GTX 1060 6GB (don't go higher that that since your CPU will bottleneck)

Upgrade to 8GB RAM if you play GTA V

Hmm I guess it's Thermaltake? What's the exact model? (full name of the PSU)
If the PSU isn't good, it may not power up GPUs that require more power (like the RX 480) properly.

if you have no 6 pin connectors then the 1050TI is good but i would look into getting a RX 570 or RX 470 seeing as they are better and you can get the chepest ones for about $170-$180(they start at $190 here ;-;)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I'm not planning to upgrade my monitor any time soon at all. So i guess GTX 1050/ RX460 would be good for me. Which one should I get? The 2GB one or the 4GB one? And, from which manufacturer? In my place, there's GIGABYTE, MSI and ASUS for Nvidia graphics cards. And Sapphire and MSI for AMD.

And, my monitor uses a VGA cable, do I have to use a VGA to HDMI converter to use it with modern HDMI only GPU?

Okay, i can add in one more 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, would that be good enough?

Sorry, it's ThermalTake. The exact model is: LT-450NL2NK. Do i need to upgrade this?

I guess that's gonna be overkill for my 1366x768 monitor, and lower price is better for me, cause im short on money, I'd like to upgrade my RAM instead of buying a costly GPU. And stick with something like GTX1050/RX460

The 1050ti will almost definitly bottleneck.

The issue is that the 470 is like $50 more but beats the shit out of the 460 and 1050/Ti

idk

RX 460 with 4GB VRAM. Go for either Sapphire or MSI, both make good AMD cards.

Yes you need a converter.
Yes add more 4GB RAM. It's good enough.
PSU not that good but should work fine with a 75W GPU.

I saw benchmarks and GTX 1050 Ti is much better than RX460. (especially for GTA 5) Is there any problem if I go with GTX 1050 Ti?

No problem. More powerful than RX 460 and GTX 1050. Go for 1050TI if you can afford. RX 470/570 or 480/580 the best choice.

Thanks, but in which slot should I connect the GTX 1050 Ti on my motherboard? I'm not good in these kind of stuffs.

PCIe X16, the longest PCI slot.

If the GPU requires additional 6 pin PCIe power, remember to plug it in.
