9800 GT power requirement.

Hey y'all!

 

          So, my already crappy GPU is giving some artifacts on screen. So, not gonna use it any more. ATM, I'm using Intel HD 2500. So, I see this super cheap deal on eBay. A 9800 GT and it has a 6 pin connector which my PSU has. I have an Antec Basiq BP300P power supply. Not a bad PSU for super low config and components. But it's only 300 watts. I really wanna get this GPU but not sure whether my PSU can supply enough current. Help me out. I looked out through out the web. Some say it's good some say it's will work but not good enough.. I normally don't go by the Outervision site but it says 269W is enough for the config that I have. help!

 

Let me know what's your say on this.

On the official spec table it says the minimum power requirement is 400W.

forgot to mention. I read that already. But some folks around the web are using it with 350 and 300w PSUs. So, having a thought over it.

If you are going to get that GPU I recommend you get a 450W PSU then that gives you a bit of overclocking headroom if you wanted to overclock.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't wanna spend a lot for this though. That's why this much thinking.
