so im soon going to be getting a system (traded my 980 for it)

G3258 @ 4.2GHZ 

Antec Kuhler 650 AIO

H81M-E LGA1150

gtx 960 4gb

4gb Vegeance

850W Alpine PSU

 

i probably will sell it tbh

or should i use it for 24/7 F@H?(I dont pay the powerbill)

or

a media/nas?

F@H or BOINC also.

 

GTX960 with a decent OC can net around 150-170K PPD.  175-200K PPD if a very good OC is on the card.

That's one hell of a system to not have a use for. Do F@H on it on full power (so long as the cooling sufices). It would sure beat my Core 2 Duo over here.

Pentium D's were just two pentium 4's glued together to make a dual core processor, so the logic is the same (the same goes for the celery processors of the day as my old celery system always left a nice heat spot on the back of the case whenever I was trying to run games).

Oh, I've never heard of the Pentium D's being very hot, only the Prescott Pentium 4's.

The GPU makes it a tad overkill though.
