Got a 1070 in but no ssd.

If you'd rather ssd+580 than no ssd+1070 then go with @Being Delirious's build.

This build is great. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Krz9QV

Its 160 over budget, I'd say to drop to a 240 GB SSD and drop the PSU to 500w since its. super overkill. If you still don't hit 900 just find some 3000mhz ram instead of 3200

Here is the exact build I just did, it comes in under your budget which leaves room for a better CPU cooler (That's what ill be doing), or more RAM, a better PSU, extra fans, whatever you really want to do with $60. You could easily swap that 480 for a 580, I would just base it on current sales etc. Yes, the Ryzen has more cores, but this is what I have actually had hands on experience with so I feel more comfortable recommending this. Also, the extra wattage in the PSU gives you more room down the road if you choose to upgrade anything.

I play my games on 1080p 60FPS at Ultra settings with zero issues. DOOM, DOTA 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and a few others. I know they aren't the most demanding games, but this rig should run a majority of games at max setting with no issues.

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k 3.7Ghz MOBO: AsRock Z370 Extreme4

RAM: Corsair Vengeance (4x4) Storage: Crucial MX300 275Gb | WD Blue 1Tb

GPU: XFX RS RX480 8Gb Case: Corsair 270R PSU: Seasonic Focus+ 750w

Monitors: HP 22cwa | BenQ BL2420PT  Cans: ATH-M50x

Why would you ever get the locked 7700 when the 1500X is shown to be +/-5% of it in almost every game for far less money and with a better upgrade path?

If your willing to go over your budget you could add an SSD for boot.(edit:I keep it within the budget)

Here is good Water Cooled system with SSD and Full Modular Power Supply.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BTN4vV

Feel free to cut back on Water Cooling, go with Ryzen 5 1400 and use Wraith Stealth Cooler and upgrade GPU if want.

FULL CUSTOM WATER COOLED = AMD Ryzen 1700X + AsRock B450 itx/ac + 2x8GB ADATA D10 DDR4 + EVGA GTX 1070 FTW  Integra 450W SFX + Intel 660p 1TB SSD + Modded Fractal Design Node 202

If you don't need 240 GB SSD you can get one with lower capacity or completely skip it and get a good cooler to OC the cpu.

AIOs like that are just a waste of money. :/

More noise. More money. More prone to failure.

And you may as well just get an RX570 when it comes to 1080p. Plays just about everything 60fps+ at high/very-high which usually looks the same as "ultra" settings. The extra CUs on the 580 don't get much use at 1080p.

Here we go. Dropping down to 570 opens up to better Water Cooler.

That is a better build, and other part choices are quite good, but you could get a Le Grande Macho for $65 which is 140W TDP of cooling with no noise at all.  140W TDP is plenty for a 1500X or even a 1600X.

You could also get a $140 512GB SSD like the ADATA SU800 instead of the ssd & hdd combined cost. I would also highly recommend doing that and just add an HDD later when you run out of space. 500GB is a good size.

Anyway. This is general build I recommend for budget 1440p 60fps high/vh/max settings depending on the game, which is under $900 if you drop the $550 monitor and Windows

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kqq2NN

Increase RAM to 2x8 GB if you'd like. Could also consider the B350M mATX Prime board, Gigabyte Gaming 3, and a more premium case.
