Agreed.  It's a vicious cycle, a pedophile raping a child.  There's a chance that child will themselves become a pedophile later on in life.  

My uncle did...things... to me, yet I have no interest in children. It might just be a 1 in a million case with me, but still.

 

Remember when EST was okay? As was social Darwinism? Let's revisit that, the world made more sense back then...

I'm sorry to hear that.  I went to a convention a few years ago on abuse, and I think it's around 40% of abused become abusers.  I think if it happens young enough and the abuse happens for long enough, it can cause issues later in life.  I'm not a psychologist, so I could be totally wrong.

Social Darwinism was an excuse to enforce racist policies and discriminate against minorities.  It made more sense back then because it was widely believed to be ethical and true, but nowadays, we (hopefully) know better.

Social Darwinism was an excuse to enforce racist policies and discriminate against minorities.  It made more sense back then because it was widely believed to be ethical and true, but nowadays, we (hopefully) know better.

Social darwinism may be used for those purposes but its primary definition goes back to regular old Darwinism - survival of the fittest. This is a long rabbit trail I could follow but it would get so off topic so fast...

The case wasn't dropped to support privacy. If anything, divulging the means used would have allowed TOR developers to fix the security flaws.

I understand why they did what they did but I believe there could have been another way the case could been handled by prosecutors  without having dropped the charges.

Tor isn't broken its side by government all the time to communicate, why would they leave a whole that someone else could find? plus it is open source don't you think the 1000's of developers working on it would have found it by now? the "exploit" they used was probably malware spread via JavaScript, flash, or some other embedded technology and the dependent had didn't have blacked in the tor settings or it may have been an exploit of Firefox.

they have already lost it, in any case they have to say how they got the evidence which would need they to reveal the code just like this case.
