Who has had the inseam on pants measured?

im just wondering, when i got mine done the guy measured it then grabbed it and moved it to the other side and then took the the other legs measurement, im wondering if that was normal? everyone I tell it to says thats not how they do pants

That strikes me as perfectly normal if you are getting custom tailored or professionally tailored pants and slacks.  Usually these measurements are used to determine if there are any variations on your legs inseam so that they can be properly hemmed.

Chances are both of your legs aren't the exact same shape and size.

You could try asking another tailor, rather than dudes on the internet who have likely never custom tailored anything in their life.

thank you, i was starting to think i was crazy... everyone telling me that tailors actually aren't allowed to touch that.
