AOC monitor by Porsche

For those who are looking for a monitor that will fit into their sleek and elegant life style, then look no further than the AOC PDS241 and AOC PDS271 designed by Studio F.A. Porsche. Both of them features a 3 sided edgeless display with a thickness of just 5.2mm. AH-IPS panel with a 16:9 ratio at FullHD resolution of 1920x1080 at 60Hz. 178 degree viewing angle,1000:1 contrast ratio, 4ms response time, supports tilt up to 21.5 degrees, and Blue Light and AOC Anti Flicker Free technology to protect vision from harmful blue wave lengths, and reduce eye strain during long use. It covers 100% of the sRGB and 90% of the NTSC color gamut. A single HDMI port as well as a 2-prong power jack is attached to a separated power adapter via USB Type C, that has a cable routed through the monitor stand to reduce cable clutter. They will be available in June for the price of $240 for the 24 inch and $330 for the 27 inch.

oh wow, I'm shocked. It's not that bad of a deal then. But I still won't recommend one unless it has spot-on color accuracy and rivals the Dell U2415 or something. Unless it does that, I'm not impressed.

It's a bit pricy... And tbh, I don't really know why it needs to exist, esp. at that price point. There are many better options.

You're paying for looks.

No monitor at that price point looks as good.

Need for reviews then.

1080p 60 hz?

That'd be like a fucking 3 cylinder, front drive, automatic only Porsche.

768P at 50 hertz would probably be in Yugo or Trabant territory by comparison.

HA!  Zak Killian @ TechReport nailed it.  My first thought was that the only place I'd put a monitor like this was for office show pieces.  The body looks nice, but it doesn't have the muster.  Should go well along side peoples blackberries designed by porsche.

So....its effectively a newer+larger version of the panel inside my 2011/2012 ultra-portable laptop. 1080p 60Hz 14.1" IPS. And with only a single HDMI input its inferior in that regard to all bar the cheapest+nastiest screens.

I don't know what Porshche is thinking, but I've got a TN panel based 27" 1080p screen in front of me-and its awful in comparison to 1080p at 14.1" and 1440p at 27". I can easily see the pixels at my normal distance from the screen.

1080p 60hz IPS larger than 21" and over $120 no thanks, don't care how nice the chassis is. Needs to be at least 1440p if over 20" and if 1080p it needs to be 120hz if over $150.

as usual design by porsche looks awesome but spec wise its pretty meh... but at the same time everything "design by porsche" has never really pushed the envelop. also at least price is kinda ok for the specs. only thing i would have liked to see is 1440p on that 27 incher and then bump the price up by 50 bucks or so

I'm a simple man.

I see porsche, I click

I see beautiful tech, I pay attention

I see reasonable price for aforementioned beautiful design aesthetic on what should be an excellent simple display, I open my wallet. That 24" sweet spot though for only 240 though. I... I just upgraded the computer and monitor at my gym, but holy hell, I very well might open my wallet again and splerg on this, this monitor is freaking beautiful.
