Progression and games

D148xZ

GTA san andreas for mobile phones was released 9 years after it's original release date, the same goes for GTA III. With that logic in mind I'm wondering if Rockstar games will release GTA IV for mobile anytime soon since it's been close to 9 years for that game too. Would it even be possible with current progression in mobile architecture in soc's like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and the MediaTek Helio X30? What CPU's and GPU's would those Soc's compare to?

I'm not sure, GTA IV was extremely poorly optimized in a way... a game that runs better on Kepler than Maxwell/Pascal is a bit of a lolz if you ask me

The thing is that SoC raw power went up insanely fast in a short time, but it has reached its peak by now.

Just look at what happened with cpu's and gpu's on the desktop side. Slow start, stuff eventually kept improving insanely fast in a very short time. (think about the Ghz race in the cpu market for example and multi-core stuff) and eventually things settle down. Cpu's don't improve anymore performance wise, at least nowhere near at the same rate as 5-10 years ago.

Honestly, i don't see it anytime soon and don't forget games like GTA:SA even run on a potato pc today. It's nowhere nearly as demanding as GTA IV

GTA IV for a mobile device... have you played GTA IV on the consoles or PC? Like really I doubt that game would make it to mobile platforms. Unless, they rebuilt the engine and made it look like dog shit, then it might be possible. At this time no way that is going to happen lol.

Not with that attitude you can't!

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

Rebuilt the engine? Sure.

Look like dog shit? Nah. PS3 graphics were more than doable on mobile hardware years ago.
