I feel as though I should get a final answer to this question. All of my friends at sixth form believe it to be the latter, but in any case, HERE IS THE QUESTION:

That's based alot of preference.

 

I like having 2 seperate monitors, one for gaming and one for browsing or whatever.

Having a single bigger one means no secondary choices and having the power to drive it depending on usage.

 

3440x1440p is almost 4K, so keep in mind that mind.

34" ultra wide will need some beefy PC to power it in games

 

I'd still suggest 21:9 though. That crosshair on the middle is annoying when you want to play with the highest resolution.

But at the moment, I have 2 4:3 monitors - each with a SUPER thick bezel! I'm used to it.

Would rather one large monitor, than 2 and have to split between them,

also if you're into gaming 2 monitors side by side isn't ideal.

 

I pick my displays like i pick my gpu's. Get one really good one over 2 less powerful and cheaper ones.

 

Imo go for the UW, just make sure you can run it on your specs.

single large monitor is better in ever situation if you ask me!

i have an acer predator x34 and its by far the best monitor ive owned. before that i had a 4k display and before that i had 3x 1080p 24" displays

But is UW good for effective multi-tasking? Is it better than 2 separate monitors?
