OnePlus 3T & Gear VR

Ezzy-525

Hey all,

I have a OnePlus 3T and was wondering if its possible to get the Samsung Gear VR apps and such to work on it?

Obviously I know the screen is sub par for VR, but the Gear Gen 2 is only £44 on Amazon at the minute and seems worth a try.

But will I be able to download all the necessary apps and stuff without being on a Samsung handset?

Cheers,

Ez

It is possible assuming that Oneplus 3t will physically fit into Gear VR but requires root so warranty voided. If you are having no problem voiding warranty then go ahead. Here is detailed information in XDA Developers page.

Bugger, I just ordered a £10 version since it was same day delivery to mess around with.

I might try the Gear VR software you linked to and see if it works with the knock off headset I just bought xD

No it will not work as Gear VR connects through USB type C or USB 2.0 and also has few buttons which are only present on Gear VR so not at all possible.
