New Budget gaming/ game design PC

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of building a new PC mostly for gaming, 3D modelling and some film editing for college.  I have done a little research on hardware for what i want on a budget here are the parts i have picked so far:

MOBO: ASUS Z170-a

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb (4x8gb)

CPU: Intel Core I5 6600K

PSU: Coolermaster v1000 watt

GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti (2 in SLI)

CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv

I am currently running 2 moniters with my current build and will want to upgrade to maybe 2 ultra-wide curve monitors or 3 normal monitors for the new build, already have other peripherals i will need so no added cost there.

All of this hardware including the case is $2,487 (rounded up in Australian dollars)

If anyone has any other suggestions on what would be better hardware wise (even if it costs a bit extra) please leave a reply, this will be my second PC build and i want it to last me for quite a while.  All help is greatly appreciated.

Ryzen 7 1700 will defitnely be better for workstation - gaming hybrids. I5 are poor value, since Ryzen 5 launch.

Games have been changing to really enjoy extra cores, and of course productivity also benefits from more. so I'd say go i7 or r7

Why you want so much RAM?

Why SLI?

Why no storage?

OK fine, I'll put them together:

Ryzen 5/7 CPU would be much better for your usage.

Besides, SLI? not many games support that, its a waste of money.
