Intel 600p Series 256GB good for gamin?

Igna01
Go to solution Solved by intender,

I am running that drive in my pc with no problems.  Its faster than my older ssd I had in it before, but the only way I can tell any difference between it and any other ssd is with synthetic benchmarks.  Unless you are constantly transferring massive amounts of data between drives you will not notice a difference in real world situations like games and apps loading vs most any other ssd or another nvme drive.  I cant tell a difference between it and my 2 year old sandisk ssd that it replaced.  I have used a couple of computers with samsung 960 evo's which are more expensive and cant tell a difference with them either.

I was seaching for fast storage for my future build and ended up finding this Intel 600p Series 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive.

will be good for gaming? I´m afraid of temps.

it will be good, but there are definitely better options for less price.

It will be fine, but you could've got something better for a cheaper price.

Honestly it should be fine. Once games don't gain much from fast storage. If it heats up a little your load times may slow down slightly but prolly won't notice it. Unless they are really hot drive and overheat badly..

Well I would've bought a sata ssd like 128gb if you just plan to game and not save files, and 1 tb hard drive to save you're games on.

It's not any faster than a sata ssd at loading games and booting up, I'd look at getting something like an SU800 or SU900 instead. Or maybe a Trion 150 or Ultra ii.

The advertised speeds of any ssd will never be reached in real world scenarios, especially of nvme drives.

The 600p is a NVMe ssd.... Not the fastest advertised, but you likely wont notice much of a different from the next one.

no NMVe if supported by your motherboard, is significantly faster than SATA.
