The PCB on the card is going to be a lot of fun for overclockers. It packs a 16+3 (GPU+VRAM) Phase power design. The VRMs are cooled by a small aluminum heatsink while the rest of the PCB is cooled by the fans. There are multiple voltage reading points on the back of the PCB along with three connectors for the fans and two connectors for the LED ring and crown lighting. The card itself is powered by three 8-pin power connectors which deliver tremendous amounts of power to the PCB allowing for monster clock bumps on LN2 cooling. Expect this card to cost a lot when it hits the market.

If this isn't stuck at 1.093v like my 1080FTW is, its an instant buy for me. I don't need to wait for volta. Past HOF cards have been crazy. I wonder if this means there will be some sort of kingpin card from EVGA now?

North of 375 Watts....

2 8-pins = 300W

PCI-e Slot = 75W

the moment a card draws 376W, it needs more than 2 8-pins.

I wish more manufacturers made good white cards. The HOF series is so good for white builds, but the cards are so difficult to come by. I have a friend that would love to buy one, but they're just so hard to buy. Is there a place to preorder?

Also, both articles linked name three 8-pin connectors.

I was correcting sazrocks, in saying that his 450W number is wrong, and that the correct number is 375. 375 is the max draw for 2 8-pins, and the only reason why a company would put three, is if the max draw exceeds what 2 can provide. (or just for shits and giggles, which is probably what happened here.)

I see, I see. I was making the same mistake (thinking of the total 3 connectors + PCIe slot... but that's actually the maximum, not the threshold they expect to cross).

I stand by my 450w number. If they only expected 375w max they would have put a six pin(75w). Instead they put an 8-pin which leads me to think that they believed that a 6-pin would be insufficient, and therefore that the card would draw over 450w (150 + 150 + 75 + 75), at least in some senario. So they added some insurance wattage which allows for up to 525w, but that will probably not happen.

Are these HoF cards usually available in the US?    I'm almost certain I've never heard of them.

KFA2 was absorbed by galaxy and made Galax, IIRC. They are out there, just limited numbers.

Built a new rig with a placeholder 970 HOF card. IT's a beast and always bench's well without the overclocking. Looking for a 1080 ti when I get a bit of coin together and this would be one hell of a card!

I think I'd prefer an easier to find and cheaper 1080 ti.  ?

But you have fun.  Assuming you can find one.  ?

KFA2 is Galax... they sell under that brand in EU.

You can get some GALAX/KFA2 cards in the US, but only through their own store http://galaxstore.net.

525W from all power sources is something indeed. It'll only ever do it under chilled water, DICE or LN2 since that's where the user can really push volts.

Power spec means nothing though to extreme OC cards. It'll easily do double that when really pushed. The 980 Ti K|NGP|N was easily capable of 1500W with 1.6V+ through the GPU core. LN2 meant it was kept happy though.
