Have you ever actually hit the windows key by mistake?

A lot of 'gaming' keyboard tend to feature a 'gaming' mode that disables the Windows key. I find it to incredibly annoying, especially when I want to Win+Tab.

Does anyone actually find this mode useful, or have a habit of hitting the key accidentally/

ive hit the windows key many a time, my keyboard has a button that disables the the windows key, off by default

I also find it obnoxious, I've never had a problem with accidentally hitting the windows key

My G810 has a button where I can enable or disable it, and I always keep it disabled

I do accidentally hit it from time to time but i never bother to enable "gaming mode" on my keyboard either lol.

I've never accidentally hit it, not even once. it is on such a weird spot that when I have my fingers on WSAD, I actually have to do move my hand to hit the win key

Never really had a problem with hitting it accidentally. Perhaps when I was just a really young kid I might have, but I've been touch typing for coming on 10 years here, so hasn't really been a problem that I can recall at least.

I do find games and the like that automatically disable it though extremely annoying. Same with games that disable alt+f4 functionality, it's just a nuisance and prevents me from doing what I mean to. though, I do understand why they implement such features. I can easily see how someone who isn't accustomed to keyboards might accidentally do something they didn't want.

Used to do it all the time. Now it never happens. I think it has to do with hand size. At least in my case.

My keyboard can turn it off, but I don't.

I never hit it by accident, and I kind of use it sometimes.

No, but back in the WinXP days I would hit the motherfu*** Power key way too often, it drove me crazy enough to take the key out and use my keyboard with that hole just to get rid of it... I'm so glad that bloody idiotic key was removed from standard.

I've never hit it while gaming, the layout of my keyboard makes it difficult to press while my hand is resting on the wasd keys.

I had a keyboard with no win key lock before, i took off the win key physically becase id hit it all the time, when walking in cs i had ctrl my walk key but the win key would be the one i pressed 70% of the time

 

now I have a k70 lux and keep the win lock on 24/7

When I used to use a cheap membrane, it used to be an issue for me. I would say the feature is pretty useful (Love it on my k70).

Rarely when I press Alt, I accidentally click on the Windows key. I don't use the alt key in gaming though, so it would be useless to me

Never been a problem on my side. I never encounters a game that minimized by hitting the win key since XP days.

Yep...and that's no longer a problem on my latest keyboard as it has an option to disable the Windows key (FN+F8).

When I hit it in-game, nothing happens. And I never "disabled" it. However, win+tab works and I do use that for switching between apps from time to time.

I don't think I've accidentally hit the Winkey in a loooong time... I generally have GameMode on, but I can go days without enabling it because I forget it's off since I don't hit it by mistake. The only times I use the Winkey, is when I lock my session or extend my desktop to both monitors. (I often disable my second monitor, like when I watch movies or play games(if I'm not using an IM app)

I have shaky hands so I hit it quite frequently. My keyboard's gaming mode let's me pick what parts to disable of Alt+tab, Alt+f4, and windows key. So I disable windows but not the other two.

I used to have problems with that, so much so that I downloaded and ran a third party program to kill the Windows key.  However, that was many, many years ago, and I don't experience that anymore (or if I do, it's so rarely that I don't recall it).
