Cooler for MITX build

Guest

I was looking at this cooler: https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-Premium-Cooler-Cooling-NH-L9x65/dp/B00VB3Y89E/ref=pd_sim_147_15?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00VB3Y89E&pd_rd_r=8N3H31RX7YCWVX5KGKMN&pd_rd_w=BLsTI&pd_rd_wg=huawQ&psc=1&refRID=8N3H31RX7YCWVX5KGKMN

For use with the Cooler Master Elite 130. Are there better coolers I could go with? I am cooling an i5-4440, and I know the stock cooler would work, but I was hoping for something more.

Nope. Noctua is the "cream of the crop" when it comes to coolers in general.

The case says it fits max 65mm and the cooler says its 65mm tall, is that dangerous? is there chance it won't fit?

They typically leave a few mm extra beyond the max cooler height.

If the case says 65mm and the cooler is 65mm then you should be fine.

This is also another great option as well. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835220069

Is there any way to get a cooler with a 1.2cm fan? or is that too much to ask for? It's probably not an option.

The Fan that comes on the Noctua one is only 1.4cm as it is... not sure you can get much smaller because of the motor...

The 2nd one I linked you is only 58mm so it gives you 7mm of clearance for the added air flow movement.

Is the fan really that big? You do know that 1.4cm is 140mm, right?

Well jeez. I'm sorry, my conversion was off. I guess I meant 12cm then, like a case fan. I doubt they have anything like that then, do they? It doesn't seem like it would fit.

Both of these have a 120mm fan on them. Both of them have enough clearance should you want to put your own normal 120mm fan on them, like a Noctua NF-F12 for isntance.

Why? That seems unnecessary.

What are you looking to improve with an aftermarket cooler?
