Really enjoying this increase in honesty/straight face stuff guys. It's nice to be reminded where your guys heads are over the years behind the camera.

As to this thumbnail thing, it's one more thing in the negative column for me along with a bunch of other stuff, but that column is still smaller than the positive as the core of LTT doesn't appear to have changed, authenticity and honesty with a dollop of humour.
The issue I'd bring up about 'just trying to expand the business', that's the same mentality as the corporations that you guys complain about all the time. They're just pushing farther and harder to reach increased profits as they've been operating so much longer. It's a tricky line to walk when operating a business, On the whole I think LMG has done exceptionally well, but that doesn't mean there haven't been missteps (AT&T?) along the way, it happens. 

If only YouTube had some decent data to feed back to content creators to better understand who's complaining and who's applauding to better discern if it's just a bunch of whiners, inform feedback, newbies etc...

My continued hope is that if I think LTT videos are becoming whiff's, that it's because my tastes and those of LTT have drifted, rather than LTT chasing a group of people's tastes that don't really exist because no one is the average person so don't try to appeal to them.

I have to say that I really like these videos. I'm not a big watcher of all the videos anymore, but I do checkout everything that is relevant for me.

Even though nostalgia goggle don't work, I think its a nice bit of having "hands on" with LTT. A feeling that I have missed for a long time.

You gotta use clickbaity titles and silly thumbnails because it's just how youtube works. They love raking in low quality content with 300000 mid rolls ads, it's just annoying to me that this is what youtube has come to, where people that make professional high quality content have to feed into the system to make sure they are not buried.

Also don't listen to reddit, they can be about as worse as 4chan sometimes.

And why do people even complain? Essentially they get to watch these videos ad free and all they are concerned about is the thumbnail?

I never really gave a shit about the thumbnails, I usually get the videos from the forums the second the thing is posted (all about that First Comment on the video son) so I never really notice the thumbnails (if they even show up) to care, it has ALWAYS been the straight up misrepresentations and ripping on VIEWERS about it with a poorly thought out joke that has led to me either not watching or disliking a video, we've had 3 instances in the last year, the "Futuristic Build" that just turned into some Donald Trump Mocking game (I was REALLY hoping to see some cool looking builds, not some sociopolitical commentary, please stay out of politics, people don't come to tech channels to hear political commentary) , the One you spoke of (the Tested/Previewed video, which I DID watch by the way) then the ACTUAL Ryzen 5 video when you made a joke that in MY OPINION was in poor taste that essentially was you just trolling the commenters that commented about the "tested" video, at which point I shut it off before seeing any of the important parts. As a REGULAR VIEWER I found that disrespectful to your audience and it very nearly made me stop watching your videos entirely. Also that video is STILL titled PREVIEW, if you admit that is wrong why has it not been re-titled?

Because to change it again would essentially attempt to change history and the comments attached to that upload, good or bad, would no longer make sense.

The thumbnails have never meant anything to me. Sometimes they make me laugh but honestly 99% of the time its the video title that draws me in. As long as those are on point I won't have an issue.

 

As a fellow business owner myself I totally get it. You have to do what keeps the lights on. We have some processes that customers dislike but they are in place to protect us and our customers. Sure they are tedious but guess what...we have to do them to protect the business. 

 

I don't miss the old formats. I respect them for what they were and that they got your channel (and media outlet) started but I very very much prefer the more clean and informative format you have now. Every tech channel eventually heads this way. Everyone. They don't aspire to have 3M viewers and still be shooting low quality videos in their basement.

well the best thing is with thumbnails is you don't see them in the video itself while watching. Though I don't like the new style, i kinda understand the point why they are doing it. SO as you don't have to see them 5mins long, just watch the vids and ignore the thumbnail if you don't like it. 

 

One important answer was not given to the audience: Why the hell were there hotdogs as a background on this thumbnail? :D

I just watched the video and was surprised to see anyone would even take the time to complain. Complaining about thumbnails is the definition of judging a book by its cover. Has anyone ever commented and said, "I hated the content of that video, but hit the thumbs up because that thumbnail was tight." Doubt it. 

 

I appreciate everything you guys do, even the stuff I don't like because your variety is great and has gotten me interested in things I didn't even know about. The effort that goes into shooting, editing, and storing all of the content you provide for free is staggering. You all seem to be very relatable with exceptional skills that have allowed you to make our hobby into a job. Keep up the good work.
