I'm considering purchasing the game but i want to know for sure if its any good.. i know its been on top twitch streams for a while but i want to know if it have the potential to keep this momentum going for a long while..(like overwatch)

The game is absolute garbage. Better than H1Z1 but that isn't saying much. All of my friends and me refunded it.

H1Z1 KotK is pretty fun when playing with friends.  I can't say the same for PLAYERUNKNOWN BATTLEGROUND.

Could you expand on more of why it's garbage?

Honestly, I think its the best royale game mode I've ever played in comparison to Arma 3 and H1Z1's BR.

The devs are putting out new updates and clearly show that they give a shit about the game, unlike daybreak. Optimization and cheating are still being dealt with and devs are aware of the problem.

The game is very broken with it's guns. Pick up an AR and scope and you win the game. Snipe people across the map. Same goes for range on weapons. They deal way too much damage for how far they shoot. Especially old guns

Overwatch and Blizzard's entire strategy is the polar opposite of games like this. Another one of these survival games comes out every few months and it's super hot for a while until the population migrates to the next one. It's possible this is the one that has the right mix of new ideas and developer support to be different, but it's unpolished and in Early Access and no one can really know what'll happen with it in the long term.

 

As with any Early Access game, if you're not sure the state it's in right now is worth the money, don't buy it yet.

i did not mean it in a way like the both game are similar in gameplay.. what i was asking is if you guys think it will get as popular as overwatch did

That goes for a lot of battle royale games?

You could use the same logic for H1Z1 Battle royale or Arma 3 BR.

Games like BR are fun in the way that they allow you to choose your engagements based on your loadout. If someone had an AR and knew how to use the zeroing in the game. All props go to them and they should be allowed to win. 

 

Edit: Besides you are not going to get sniped by a UMP-9 from across the map. Sniper rifles are still accurate af

Explain to me - how do you engage in firefights if not from across great distances in an 8x8 KM map?

 

PUBG is about strategy and survival, unlike CoD. If you prefer to play narrow corridor shooters where you die in 12 shots, then PUBG is clearly not for you.

I get the type of game it is and I enjoy both types of game type. I just think the game could have some vital improvements. It wasn't personally worth it for me or my friends right now. Maybe down the road I will buy it again

You realize shotguns, especially loaded with slugs have good range and accuracy, even buck (but with dramatically increasing spread) shot has good range. The idea that shotguns should only be able to hit/kill point blank targets in video games is stupid.

This game has been making the streaming rounds though it's rather inexplicable to me. I mean I guess it works since there's a degree of audience interaction from the streamers/streamer things that would usually do GTA V and go to Wildlands or these other thurd as the even cheaper and even crappier alternative but unless you actually have a large group of friends to play with I wouldn't bother and then again, if you do have a large group of friends that regularly play together you can pretty much have fun with anything at all even just cards against humanity or some shit.

Likewise. I also enjoy arena shooters. The damage scaling and applicable strategies are more akin to the slower, more realistic shooters than they are arena shooters. PUBG plays more like the old school Delta Force games, or Battlefield games on hardcore than what most modern day shooters play like. That's not to say PUBG doesn't need some polish, but the core gameplay has it where it counts.

if i lose or die to much in the game, that doesn't mean that the game is broken, or bad. 

maybe it just me.

Its pretty fun. I like this game a lot, as it takes the best things from games like Day Z, but without the janky Zombies. The most fun thing to do in Day Z was looting and killing other players anyway, which is what this is.

 

The game is early access, and still buggy and has performance issues. But the basic gameplay is there, and solid enough to be enjoyable.

 

I would say it is worth the $30. I wouldnt say its worth $60, but at $30 I think its a good deal.

 

That being said: Does anyone have any tips for getting better at spotting other players? I consistently can make it to the top 20-30, but at that point I always get shot, and I never know where it came from. The game sadly doesnt have a killcam or anything, doesnt show you where you got shot from. Sadly I feel like when the Play area circle gets really small, it is just down to luck whether you survive or not. If you can spot the other people before they spot you, you can easily kill them. But its not down to skill, but more situational awareness or something. I'm sure I've killed players who are better at me, just because I saw them before they saw me.

 

So long story short: How do I get better at spotting people??
