Logitech G502, corroded??(see pictures)

I was looking at my mouse the other day after I noticed the scroll wheel started to feel a bit nasty under my finger.  Upon closer inspection, the metallic finish is rippled and bubbling, appearing to be corroded. Is this fixable? Can I get a replacement? Would it be better to install a new wheel?

The coating on that stupid aluminium wheel came off and yes I think its corrosion. Happened to me months ago but thankfully I was fed up with that overweighted mouse after 2 years and went for a different brand this time.

I do not recommend 502 for sweaty hand users.

PS. U need to clean your mouse like once a month at least dude. :D

Just take a cotton swab and some alcohol (isopropyl, unless you want whiskey while drowning yourself in hate) and clean the side and ridges of the wheel.

The G502 is irreplaceable for me, the amount of buttons and versatility make it my go to...Although with this corrosion bit I might be switching to a Zowie mouse since so many people are praising it for shooters.

It made it shiny but didn't remove the corrosion, I've tried this.

Zowie wouldn't be a good option as the shell is a glossy plastic and a matte finish or rubberized plastic finish is great for sweaty hands

You don't have to remove the corrosion. It's the dirt and oils from your fingers (no offense, I'm a veterinarian and don't have to worry about patients being offended) that has gummed up the wheel.

That mouse overall needs a good soak in alcohol ?‍♂️

So much grime.. atleaste wipe it sometimes with baby tissues or something

I do. I use tooth picks and alcohol mostly. I was lazy and didn't give it a spray down with my airbrushing tool which I use to blow everything off.

Does zowie have enough buttons for you ? The weight difference will also be big (I think zowie is light). Have u seen SS Rival 700 ?

Then perhaps, final mouse? I need a much lighter mouse, I find CSGO to be impossible sometimes. I will over shoot someone completely and do better with this cheap 3 dollar Chinese mouse that I got to test on CSGO than with my G502

Meh I heard different stories about people's experience in the shell and button placements

I would take a look at the Corsair harpoon, nixeus revel, dream machines pro s, or rival 300

I want a very light mouse, this thing is crazy heavy even with the weights out. It's great for shooters like doom because you're always moving so quick that having slower aiming is better for precise shots.

700 is a joke I don't see anything that justify that $100+ price tag

Money isn't an object for purchasing a mouse, I mean if I can get it for around 50-70$ that's great but it's really no object. I almost bought the MX Master on impulse yesterday, it's down to $69.90

U called 502 irreplacable. And now u say u hate the weight and want light weight mouse. u are confusing :D but fine, try mice out and see which one fits u the best.

Ive looked at many and there is no mice better than my Final Mouse ergo atm. (I know its using 3310 and not 3360 but difference aint noticable for nonpro user). My perfect mouse would be the SS Rival 700 if it was 90g, shapewise and specwise it fits.

No I mean, I want 2 mice. The G502 for everything else and a light mouse for certain shooters.

Fair enough, not sure how long that lasts u before u favor one mouse over the other and start using the other one less and less.

Some 3310 mice are known to spin out (and if op is playing CS, that's a problem) something I have not heard as a problem on the 3360+

yeah... That mouse has definitely seen some better days :P

I've had my 502 for ~2 years and it looks nothing like that, do you eat food near your computer and/or eat then grab your mouse without washing your hands? That would definitely attribute to that grime, unless you have a cat or something? I admit I eat some snacks near my PC, but I limit to just using my left hand to grab chips and what not... so I can still watch youtube, etc..

Just stay with the G502, then. Lift some weights, do finger exercises, use a wrist rest. If your wrist is getting tired lifting a mouse, then I'm afraid your problems lie elsewhere.

None taken, lol. I'm quite strong but making fine movements with a heavy mouse is different than a light one.
